Epilepsy |
|
Dr Cockerell’s initial and main interest is in epilepsy and epilepsy services and he was previously Head of the Epilepsy Service at Barts and The London NHS Trust. He has full access to modern epilepsy investigations including 3 Tesla MRI, video telemetry and full epilepsy surgery work-up, which is done in conjunction with the Epilepsy Unit at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. He also has access to psychometry, neuroradiology and alternative treatments such as Gamma knife surgery and vagal nerve surgery. |

Specific interest in Migraine, tension headache, Chronic Daily Headache, Cluster
Headache, and Chronic Paroxysmal Hemicrania Cephalgia. Full range of treatments
and investigation on offer. |

Stroke |
|
Active interest in all forms of cerebrovascular disease. Fully trained in thrombolysis administration and attended thrombolysis courses for NHS London. Accredited in administration NIH Stroke Scale.

Post head injury and whiplash syndrome |

All patients with persisting post accident neurological symptoms can be offered
imaging and other investigations as appropriate. Full range of treatment services. |

General Neurology |
|
Dr Cockerell has a special interest in general neurology including dementia, Parkinson’s Disease, peripheral neuropathy and neurology complications of general medical disorders. |
